Senior Goodbye

  • Freshman year, made 1 out of 6 show blocks. I ushered every show just to go to stars and I barely would pass theatre production every six weeks.
  • Sophomore things turned around but were bumpy/ didn't even make the ballot
  • Junior year even had some bumps
  • Senior year finally turned around
  • If you're struggling, just know that you aren't the only person who has ever struggled in this company
  • Joined Newspaper Senior year and was handed an editor position but I didn't even want it but now I love it.
  • Funny because I worked my butt off for an officer position and roles in shows while I join another program and am handed something my first day that someone else could have really wanted.
  • Advice: Do work hard for the things you want but also be open to other opportunities bc they might come easier to you. Either way work hard and find things you love to do. Life is weird that way and it may seem unfair but not everything can come easy.
  • If you work hard in the company, you'll get at least a little something out of it I am almost certain.
  • Stop talking bad about peoples acting/singing. Every single person is talented in here and don't forget that.  Say good things about each others acting. Don't make yourself look bad by saying mean things about other people. Be humble.
  • Just remember you are part of one the most accepting group of kids I know. Everybody is so unique in here, yet we all put our differences aside and accept each other. I love that.
  • You all are so lucky to have a place to go in the morning and at lunch, not everybody has that!
  • I have had my fair share of being negative bc I'm chorus or a small role. but it wasn't worth it bc I was missing out on having fun. So whatever part you may be, even if you're an understudy, just have fun bc at the end of day you're surrounded by awesome people

NSPA Critique

1. What is one thing you see in the critique that you can help correct?
To give my stories more of an angle.
2. What is one part of the critique that you believe is completely accurate and is something we need to work on?
Having a clear opinion in the opinions pieces.

3. What is one part of the critique that you believe is either inaccurate or just plain wrong that you think we need to keep doing despite what the critique says.
I think our headlines look a correct size, and that we do use lines between stories and we haven't used a color box and line to separate stories before.

4. Are there things we have done this year that should improve this ranking? If so, please tell me what they are?
We get stories that are all unique and come from all different parts of the school.
