My Top Story of the Century

On April 15, 1912, the Titanic, the "unsinkable ship" hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic killing 1,517 people.  The Titanic was said to be the most luxurious and the fastest ship in the world. The Iceberg hit the starboard side of the ship, tearing open 6 compartments and the ship could only survive 4.

I think this was one of the top 3 most interesting events from the 1900s, because this event was extremely unexpected.  The ship was said to be unsinkable, which made this event all more tragic.  The devastation of this still isn't forgotten.

On December 7th, 1941 attacked the U.S. Naval Base, Pearl Harbor.  This attack sunk a total of 9 ships, and damaged 6. This event is what caused the U.S. to join World War II.

I think this was one of the top 3 most interesting events from the 1900s because it was what caused the U.S. to enter the War at the time.  We might not have entered the war because we didn't have a direct cause.  This could've altered history if this event hadn't ocurred.

In 1989, the Berlin Wall that divided East and West Germany was finally taken down.  East Germany was Socialist and West was democracy, now East Germany was able to travel to west Germany.  This was a time of reunification.

I think this was one of the top 3 most interesting events from the 1900s because it was a time of reunification. East Germany was now given the choice of freedom. It showed that we can always come back together.
